Route: Mer de Glace – Mont Dolent
The Aiguille du Tacul (3,444 m above sea level) is situated in the Mont Blanc massif, a mountain range in the tri-border region between France, Italy and Switzerland. The Aiguille du Tacul is surrounded by the Leschaux Glacier in the north and the Vallée Blanche and Géant glaciers, which merge to build the Mer de Glace glacier. West of the Aiguille du Tacul, the ridge between the Aiguille de Talèfre (3,730 m above sea level) and the Mont Dolent (3,820 m above sea level) constitutes the edge of the massif towards the Val Ferret valley (IT/CH).
