Route: La Léchire – Aérodrome d’Écuvillens

The Aérodrome d’Écuvillens is the largest airport near the canton capital of Fribourg and lies south of the village Écuvillens (692 m above sea level) between the two rivers Glane and Saane (French: La Sarine). A plane landed here for the first time in 1949. Since the late 1980ies, the airport has had a hard surface runway with a length of over 800 m.

The A12 highway runs east of the runway and connects Vevey at Lake Geneva with Bern and thus is an important axis from the capital to Western Switzerland.
