Route: Basel, Three Countries Bridge – Rhine Harbor – Huningue – St Johann - Johanniterbrücke – Grossbasel

The Rhine harbor of Kleinhüningen is located on the right side of the Rhine at the northwestern end of Basel (260 m above sea level). The handling facilities for containers, steel, aluminum, and non-ferrous metal consist of two harbor basins and three container terminals.

The harbor ends in the tri-border region, where Germany, France and Switzerland meet. This point also lent its name to the Three Countries Bridge (German: «Dreiländerbrücke»). It leads from Weil am Rhein (Germany) to Huningue (France) and is the longest cyclist and pedestrian bridge with an arch construction in the world.

The St. Johann quarter extends from St.-Johann-Ring to the French border. Near the Rhine, the image of the St. Johann quarter is characterized by industrial buildings by various enterprises as well as the harbor facilities.
