Route: Zurich, Altstadt – Seefeld

Altstadt is a district of the city of Zurich. Altstadt includes the area of the historic city of Zurich (until 1893) and forms the present-day district 1. Historically, Altstadt was split into the Kleine or Mindere Stadt left of the Limmat and the Grosse or Mehrere Stadt, nowadays vaguely referred to as Dörfli or Niederdorf.

Zurich lies in the center of Europe and in the heart of Switzerland at the northern tip of Lake Zurich. The main railway station in the city center, which is only a 10-minute train ride away from the international Zurich Airport, is a European rail junction. Zurich is Switzerland’s largest city and the capital of the canton of Zurich.
