St. Moritz-Bad (1,774 m above sea level) is situated in the Graubünden Upper Engadin between the lake Champfèrersee and Lake St. Moritz. St. Moritz-Dorf is situated slightly elevated, in the north above Lake St. Moritz. The tourist location is one of the most famous places for winter sports and health spa stays in the entire Alpine region and accommodates numerous guests throughout the year.
Lake St. Moritz is fed by the river Inn and is the border of the Upper Engadin lake district, an extremely flat valley section, in the northeast. Between the Maloja Pass (1,810 m above sea level) and Lake St. Moritz, the lowest-situated lake of the four Engadin lakes, there is a difference in altitude of less than 50 meters over a distance of 15 kilometers.
