The medieval convent of Santa Maria Assunta, which is still inhabited by an enclosed religious order of nuns, is located on a rock plateau in the chestnut forest above Claro (270 m above sea level). The completely preserved complex offers a unique view of the Riviera and the Bellinzonese. The church, built in 1684, is dedicated to the Feast of the Assumption of Mary.
Bellinzona-Nord (Bellinzona North) is the highway junction of the A13, coming from the Valle Mesolcina valley (Misox), a part of the canton of Graubünden, and the A2.
Arbedo-Castione (283 m above sea level) is a municipality in the Bellinzona sub-district of the district of the same name in the canton of Ticino. It consists of the two sections of Arbedo and Castione. Neighboring municipalities are Sant’Antonio, Bellinzona, Gorduno, Gnosca, and Lumino in the canton of Ticino, and Roveredo in the canton of Graubünden.
This Ticino municipality is traversed by the Moësa and Traversagna rivers. The lake Lago d'Orbello is also located in the municipality.
