Route: Rosset – Château de Champvent – Yverdon-les-Bains
The Château de Champvent is located above the Plaine de l’Orbe (Orbe plain), which drains into Lake Neuchâtel (French: Lac de Neuchâtel, German: Neuenburgersee) in the northern part of Vaud. The 13th-century palace used to have a donjon in one of its corners; however, it has been changed and today is the same size as the other turrets. This type of palace with a characteristically rectangular floor plan in the form of a "Carré savoyard" and four turrets is quite frequent in Romandy.
Yverdon-les-Bains (433 m above sea level) lies at the western shore of Lake Neuchâtel, where the river Thielle leaves the fertile floodplain of the Plaine d’Orbe. This city with its historic center has thermal baths to offer to spa guests, among others, for enough possibilities to enjoy a swim.
