Route: Alpnachersee – Rotzloch
The lake Alpnachersee is a branch of Lake Lucerne in the cantons of Nidwalden and Obwalden. It is approximately 3.5 km long and roughly 1.4 km wide. The southern flank of the Pilatus massif borders on its northern shore. The Alpnachersee joins Lake Lucerne at the Acheregg in Stansstad. Alpnachstad, a district of Alpnach, lies at its southernmost tip. The Alpnachersee offers good conditions for windsurfers and wakeboarders.
Rotzloch is a small hamlet on the shore between Rotzberg and Alpnachersee. The rock of the mountain Rotzberg was discovered as a source of raw material and made Rotzloch an important industrial location.
